The Cashier Department of the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. re-opened yesterday, Oct. 22, 2019, for purchases of prepay tokens only.

Guam to release more tax refunds <\/p>\n
HAGATNA, Guam\u2014The Guam Department of Revenue & Taxation will mail this week 562 tax refund checks totaling approximately $1.5 million, including refunds garnished to repay government debts for error-free returns filed on or before April 27, 2019.

SHRM meeting postponed to Oct. 30<\/p>\n
In consideration to most private businesses and the government office closure due to the recent typhoon, the Society for Human Resource Management NMI Chapter is postponing its general membership meeting that was scheduled for today, Oct. 23, to Oct. 30, 2019. The time and venue remain the same.\u00a0\u00a0
\nThe meeting, which will still be held at\u00a0the Pacific Islands Club Saipan\u2019s Charley\u2019s Cabaret beginning\u00a0at 11am, will feature PSS Cooperative Education program coordinator Brandon Nicholas and Northern Marianas Coalition Against Domestic & Sexual Violence executive director Maisie Tenorio. Golf tournament fundraiser for JKPL<\/p>\n
The 4th Annual Friends of the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library Golf Tournament Fundraiser will take place on Sunday, Nov. 10, at Laolao Bay Golf & Resort\u2019s west course. Game format is Low Gross and Double Peoria, 2-Person Scramble (Men and Women). Cost to participate is $200 entry per team. All proceeds will help support the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library and its resource and collection development, circulation materials, and library programs. Saipan to host terrestrial conservation conference<\/p>\n
The 3rd Annual Marianas Terrestrial Conservation Conference & Workshop will be held on Nov. 18-20, at the Hibiscus Hall of Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan in Garapan. Registration is free and open to the public, and will include presentations on terrestrial conservation, field trips and activities such as pre-conference proa rides and Mariana swiftlet field trip, and a lizard identification trip at American Memorial Park.
