Free medical mission in Koblerville this Sunday<\/p>\n
The Pentecostal Missionary Church of Christ (4th Watch) will be hosting a free medical mission this Sunday, Oct. 27, from 2pm to 6pm, at the Hannam Supermarket parking lot in Koblerville.
\nThere will be free services such as blood sugar and blood pressure checks, facial cleansing, and massages.
\nPMCC will also be giving away 30 reading glasses as well as 75 bags of toiletries on a first come, first served basis. There will also be snacks and refreshments.
\n\u201cThis is part of the celebration of our 20th anniversary,\u201d said church pastor Claire Javillonar. PMMC has been conducting free medical missions annually since 2012.
\nAfter Sunday, the next medical mission will be on Nov. 24 at the Minachom Atdao at Kilili Beach in Susupe, for Susupe and San Jose villagers.

Zoning office closed today<\/p>\n

Free writing workshop <\/p>\n
The fourth Marianas Writers\u2019 Movement workshop on planning your novel is set for Friday, Oct. 25, 2019, from 3pm to 5pm at the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library. This is a free writing workshop, open to the public ages 13 and older. The October prep writing workshops are for aspiring writers, with encouragement and support continuing through November during National Novel Writing Month, when you will write your novel (or memoir, or collection of stories or other book).
\nThis project is part of the \u201cRekindling Marianas Narratives: Write Your Novel!\u201d mini-grant program and is made possible by support from the Northern Marianas Humanities Council, a non-profit, private corporation funded in part by the National Endowment for the Humanities. (PR)<\/p>\n
Resiliency Fest on Saturday<\/p>\n
The Resiliency Fest is happening this Saturday, Oct. 26, at the Marianas Business Plaza. Admission is free.
\nOrganized by the Lady Diann Torres Foundation, the festival, which will be from 5pm to 10pm, will feature The John Dank Show and local artists like Studio 29:11, Saipan Music & Dance Studio, Goddhy, Dagu Diggers, and Big Jay Selepeo.
\nThere will also be a distribution of relief goods. Crisis counselors will also be there. The foundation is also selling \u201cresiliency shirts\u201d for adults and children, as a fundraiser.

DPS to host Halloween \u2018haunted passage\u2019<\/p>\n
The Department of Public Safety, in collaboration with the Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services, the Department of Corrections, and the DPS Employee Association Inc., will be hosting a haunted passage way this Oct. 29.
\nThe event, named \u201cTerror on Tekken Street,\u201d will be at the DPS Bureau of Motor Vehicles\u2019 parking lot, right behind the Guma\u2019 Hustisia courthouse in Susupe. Public parking is designated in front of the courthouse.
\nEntry is free and is open to the public. It will be from 6:30pm to 9pm. DPS advises the public to be cautious when out with children; to look both ways before crossing; to keep count of individuals when in groups, with one chaperone in front and behind the group; and to be aware of their surroundings when venturing into the passage. Military training in Outer Apra Harbor <\/p>\n
SANTA RITA, Guam\u2014U.S. Naval Base Guam Security Forces will conduct a harbor security exercise today, Oct. 24, from 9am to 1pm in outer Apra Harbor. It is recommended the public, fishermen, and marine tour operators monitor the U.S. Coast Guard broadcast notice to mariners for advisories. Boaters are encouraged to be aware of the exercise operations, but are free to travel the waterways. (PR)<\/p>\n

The 4th Annual Friends of the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library Golf Tournament Fundraiser will take place on Sunday, Nov. 10, at Laolao Bay Golf & Resort\u2019s west course.
