The Commonwealth Health Care Corp.\u2019s Bureau of Environmental Health shut down one restaurant in September for serious violations of health and sanitation standards. In a press statement yesterday about the establishments it inspected in September, BEH said that the Pier Restaurant in Gaparan was allowed to reopen three days after being shut down on Sept. 3 once the bureau\u2019s concerns had been resolved.<\/p>\n
BEH conducts sanitary inspections on retail, eating, and drinking establishments ever month. Each establishment are inspected and graded on a scale that ranges from \u201cA\u201d to \u201cC\u201d and those that are closed down for serious violations of health and sanitation standards.<\/p>\n
BEH\u2019s classification for food safety are: Grade A (90-100), Grade B (80-89), Grade C (70-79), and closure\/suspension (69 and lower). <\/p>\n
