(Photos by BEA CABRERA)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Salty\u2019s Grill &amp; Caf\u00e9 is one of the few wholly Japanese-owned bars still operating on Saipan.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s also known for being a lunch and dining place, a bar, and a take-out place in one location.<\/p>\n<p>You can say that Salty\u2019s Grill &amp; Caf\u00e9 is definitely a \u201cyou name it, you got it\u201d kind of place and customers also get to experience the best flavors of Chamorro and Japanese cuisines.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery customer that spends time here at Salty\u2019s, we hope that they enjoy their visit,\u201d said general manager Taka Tanzawa<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy staff are mostly locals so customers especially the Japanese market really enjoy the vibe, energy, and customer service\u2026 we moved at this location two years ago (from Garapan) and this place is better for us as there is ample parking and a nice view of the ocean,\u201d Tanzawa added.<\/p>\n<p>Salty\u2019s is proud to have the best flavors in one place starting with local favorites such as tuna poke, loco moco, and chicken kelaguen which are available from 5pm onwards.<\/p>\n<p>During lunch time from 11am to 2pm, Salty\u2019s is also a popular place where people go and the menu includes curry and pasta dishes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur curry comes in beef, pork, shrimp, and chicken and there is nothing like it on island as my chef mixes the right amount of spices and ingredients. We also have a special steak special that I recommend people try,\u201d Tanzawa said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur vongole pasta comes in regular sauce and tomato sauce. Lunch goes from $10 to $12 and goes with soup, Saipan salad, and iced tea,\u201d Tanzawa added.<\/p>\n<p>According to Tanzawa, Salty\u2019s happy hour is filled with promos from 5pm to 6pm. \u201cSaipan Brewing Beer is only $5 and other drinks like cocktails are a dollar off from its regular price. Our patio outside is the best place to catch the sunset with your favorite drink,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2026 our last kitchen call is at 8:45pm but if our customers still want to have a drink after 10pm, from the dining area they can transfer to the bar,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Tanzawa expressed excitement over the launch of regular flights from Narita, Japan by Skymark Airlines Inc. starting Nov. 29.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe look forward to that as we expect the influx Japanese tourists once again on island. We have been busy planning to do something for them,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Salty\u2019s Grill &amp; Caf\u00e9 is located on Beach Road (beside McDonald\u2019s). They are open Monday to Saturday 11am to 2pm for lunch and 5pm onwards for happy hour and dinner.
