The CNMI Scholarship Office completed its outreach efforts on Tinian and Rota last week to bring its message of making college affordable without going into enormous student debt.
\nWith a campaign to \u201cSay No to Student Loans,\u201d CSO first presented last Thursday to students and staff on Rota at its Northern Marianas College campus. Information on the many college access programs that the CSO provides, including the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education\u2019s Student Access Program and CSO work services obligations, were shared. <\/p>\n
CSO representatives then spoke before students and staff of Tinian Jr. and Sr. High School shortly after. Students learned about the same opportunities presented on Rota, but were engaged in the High Achiever Travel Aid and Work Service Obligation portion of the CSO\u2019s presentation. <\/p>\n
These outreach efforts are in celebration of CNMI Scholarship Month, which is celebrated in November. According to CSO administrator Rose Pangelinan Camacho, this month is usually where the CSO is at its busiest as the office increases outreach efforts on all three islands.
