After seven back-to-back shows on Saipan, the Super American Circus wrapped up its fun and suspenseful shows last night, leaving the crowd holding their breaths and wanting more.<\/p>\n
The circus performed at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium, which had to be closed and quickly converted into a circus, to provide for the needed space to accommodate the concessions and the crowds. Each show lasted two hours.<\/p>\n
Wowing everyone were unicyclist Ivan, comedy jugglers Cristina and Alex, aerialists Vivian, Keren, and Montana, hula hoop artist Olena, and ringmaster Elaine Alcorn. In keeping with the \u201csuperhero\u201d theme, all the performers were in superhero costumes.<\/p>\n
Adults and children also had their mouths open wide in suspense, especially during Tammy Firefly\u2019s fiery performances, Martin Espana\u2019s daredevil act, Sasha\u2019s rolla bolla, and Blake Wallenda\u2019s tightrope walk. Comic juggler and clown Olex Kartukov also had the crowd laughing with his crowd-sourced \u201cjump rope\u201d act. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe haven\u2019t had a circus in years,\u201d said Buddy Igitol, who went to the circus with his daughter. \u201cThe last I remember was when I was a kid. We had something similar. It is nice to see the circus back in town. \u2026I am pretty sure everybody had fun. I myself enjoyed the show. My hands and my feet were sweating throughout the whole show.\u201d<\/p>\n
The last time the Super American Circus visited Saipan was 10 years ago.<\/p>\n
The Lady Diann Torres Foundation, with Joeten Enterprises, brought this year\u2019s circus to the CNMI. <\/p>\n
Super American Circus presenter Cornell \u201cTuffy\u201d Nicholas and his performers had nothing but great words for the island.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe reception has been phenomenal,\u201d Nicholas said. \u201cIt has been fantastic. Such nice people coming to see the show and enjoying it. It has been great.\u201d <\/p>\n
One of the circus clown jugglers, Bing Bam Boom\u2019s Alexander Knapp, said it was an honor to perform for the Saipan crowd. \u201cI love the Saipan crowd,\u201d Knapp said. \u201cIt is really an honor to perform for resilient people, and in this space that they fixed up for us to do the show.
