McDonald\u2019s of Guam & Saipan congratulates Jocelyn \u201cJoyce\u201d Asistores, general manager for McDonald\u2019s Middle Road, for being named a recipient of the 2019 McDonald\u2019s Global Ray Kroc Award.<\/p>\n

Asistores, who has been with the company since November 1994, is the first in the Ayuyu organization to receive the prestigious award.<\/p>\n

The award is a testament to her dedication and commitment to her team, to the customers that visit her restaurant daily, and to brand McDonald\u2019s.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you work, you need to put your heart into it. It is not enough to just go perform your duties, you have to give your heart. You have to enjoy your work, and enjoy the people you work with,\u201d said Asistores.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt feels good to receive such an award but I want to give credit to the people who made it possible for me. There would be no award without my managers and crew because they are the ones who really work hard for me. I maybe their leader, but they are the ones who work hard. Yes, I am getting this recognition, but the credit really is for them,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Originally from the Philippines, Asistores began her career with McDonald\u2019s. Since the start of her career, she has excelled in each of her roles as a crewmember, to an area manager, and to her current role as general manager. In 2014, Joyce was given the opportunity to attend McDonald\u2019s Hamburger University, a state-of-the-art training center for McDonald\u2019s managers and employees, in Chicago, IL.<\/p>\n

Upon graduation, she was promoted to general manager for McDonald\u2019s Garapan. In August 2019, Asistores was promoted to general manager for McDonald\u2019s Middle Road.<\/p>\n

Currently, she manages a team of 59 employees. When asked about her work ethic, Joe Ayuyu Jr., McDonald\u2019s Saipan area supervisor, said \u201cI am so proud of all the accomplishments Joyce has made thus far and I am confident in her abilities to accomplish much more. She is an inspiration to her team and everyone around her.\u201d<\/p>\n

Joe Ayuyu Jr. goes on to share that Joyce \u201cembodies the brand McDonald\u2019s to the fullest and we are blessed to have her as part of our team. Cheers to 2020 and beyond.\u201d<\/p>\n

McDonald\u2019s of Saipan owner\/operator Marcia Ayuyu adds, \u201cJoyce is a very dedicated person and has great people skills. She is a great leader.\u201d<\/p>\n

With more than 36,000 McDonald\u2019s restaurants worldwide, Asistores joins the top 1% of general managers that demonstrate superior performance in their McDonald\u2019s restaurant and throughout the McDonald\u2019s system. In addition, Asistores is the first Global Ray Kroc Awardee from the Marianas Islands.<\/p>\n

Global Ray Kroc Award<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Global Ray Kroc Award is designed to identify and celebrate the best restaurant managers across the world. Every two years, McDonald\u2019s recognizes the top 1% of general managers that demonstrate superior performance in their restaurants. Each nominee goes through a vigorous nomination process reviewed by field office HR, field operations teams, and nationally. Winners are selected based on a mix of business results and leadership behaviors by esteemed panelists for the GRKA award.<\/p>\n

McDonald\u2019s of Guam & Saipan, locally owned and operated by franchisees Joe and Marcia Ayuyu, is the leading food service restaurant chain in the Mariana Islands. First opened in 1993, the organization includes eight McDonald\u2019s restaurants, two on Saipan and six in Guam.
