{"id":312594,"date":"2019-11-22T06:00:15","date_gmt":"2019-11-21T20:00:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=312594"},"modified":"2019-11-22T06:00:15","modified_gmt":"2019-11-21T20:00:15","slug":"nmi-sold-in-japan-as-sport-islands","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/nmi-sold-in-japan-as-sport-islands\/","title":{"rendered":"NMI promoted as sport islands"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Marianas Visitors Authority\u2019s offshore marketing company for Japan is promoting the CNMI as a sport destination, where tourists can enjoy many sports activities year-round. <\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the MVA membership meeting at Saipan World Resort\u2019s Royal Taga Hall last week, Access Inc. president Takashi Ichikura said that they have been highlighting many sports events in the Marianas as part of their new marketing strategy for 2020.<\/p>\n<p>With the CNMI marketed as a chain of sport islands, visitors can refresh their body and soul in the Marianas, said Ichikura. <\/p>\n<p>He said they have been working with Sports Nippon, Japan\u2019s premier sports newspaper, to package golf and other CNMI sports as travel packages. These include many of MVA\u2019s annual sporting events such as Hell of the Marianas and Saipan Marathon.<\/p>\n<p>Last Oct. 11, MVA placed new destination images promoting the CNMI as sport islands on a wall display at the Shimbashi station in Tokyo. The advertisement will run through Sept. 30, 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Ichikura said they have also designed \u201cLet\u2019s Fly Saipan, New Saipan\u201d logo.
