(PR)<\/p>\n<p>Holiday closures at AMP<\/p>\n<p>The American Memorial Park Visitor Center will be closed on the following dates:<br \/>\n Nov. 26, 2019 (11am \u2013 1pm)<br \/>\n Nov. 28, 2019, Thanksgiving Day<br \/>\n Dec. 25, 2019, Christmas Day<br \/>\n Jan. 1, 2020, New Year\u2019s Day<br \/>\nThe rest of the park will remain open to the public.\u00a0<br \/>\nWith the exception of the holidays, the Visitor Center is open every day from 9am to 4pm.<br \/>\nFor more information, contact lead park ranger Brooke Nevitt at 234-7207 or 2020 or via email\u00a0brooke_nevitt@nps.gov. (NPS)<\/p>\n<p>Military trainings set<\/p>\n<p>ASAN, Guam\u2014The U.S. military will conduct training at Farallon de Medinilla from 10am to 2pm and 3pm to 4:30pm on Nov. 27 and 29.\u00a0<br \/>\nTraining will be conducted within a 12-nautical mile radius of Farallon de Medinilla. For the duration of the exercise the general public, fishermen, and marine tour operators are advised to remain clear of these areas and monitor the U.S. Coast Guard broadcast notice to mariners for advisories.<br \/>\nThe Navy will also conduct training at Warning Area 517 from 7am to 5pm on Nov. 26 and from 7am to noon on Nov. 27<br \/>\nSanta Rosa Reef and Galvez Banks remain open. For the duration of the exercise, it is recommended the public, fishermen, and marine tour operators remain clear of the following coordinates: 13\u00b0 10&#8243;N\/144\u00b0 30&#8243;E, 13\u00b010&#8243;N\/144\u00b0 42&#8243;E, 12\u00b0 50&#8243;N\/144\u00b0 45&#8243;E, 11\u00b0 00&#8243;N\/144\u00b0 45&#8243;E, 11\u00b0 00&#8243;N\/143\u00b0 00&#8243;E, 11\u00b0 45&#8243;N\/143\u00b0 00&#8243;E, and 12\u00b0 50&#8243;N\/144\u00b0 30&#8243;E.<br \/>\nThe Navy will also conduct training at Radio Barrigada from 11am to 5pm on Nov. 27.\u00a0<br \/>\nThe public should be advised that training will be accompanied by the use of blanks and residents in surrounding areas should not be alarmed if they see or hear increased activity associated with the training.\u00a0<br \/>\nThe Navy will conduct training at the Dandan-Malojloj training site in Inarajan from 11am to 11:55pm on Nov. 25-26. (PR)<\/p>\n<p>CHamoru commission meeting set<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0Kumisi\u00f3n i Fino\u2019 CHamoru yan i Fina\u2019n\u00e5\u2019guen i Historia yan i Lina\u2019la\u2019 i\u00a0Taotao T\u00e5no\u2019\u00a0(Commission on CHamoru Language and the Teaching of the History and Culture of the Indigenous People of Guam) will hold its first December monthly meeting on Dec. 5, 2019, Thursday from 12:30pm to 3pm at the Guam Museum conference room, H\u00e5gat\u00f1a. (PR)<\/p>\n<p>PH consulate to visit Saipan in Dec.<\/p>\n<p>The Philippine Consulate General in Guam, in coordination with the office of Philippine Honorary Consul to the CNMI Glicerio \u201cEli\u201d Arago, will be conducting a consular outreach mission on Saipan on Dec. 3-5, 8am to 4pm, at the Sun Palace Hotel in Susupe.<br \/>\nApplications for ePassports will be processed during the three-day consular mission.<br \/>\nAll ePassport applicants should check the list of schedules available on the Philippine Consulate General\u2019s Facebook page (facebook.com\/PHinAgana\/). Biometrics and personal data capturing for ePassport applications will be according to the attended schedule. Those who are on the list of ePassport applicants must show up at the venue on the date and time indicated in the schedule in proper attire (i.e. with collar and sleeves). (IBM)<\/p>\n<p>Wanted: Volunteer kettle ringers <\/p>\n<p>The Salvation Army is looking for volunteers as bell ringers from Nov. 29, the day after Thanksgiving, up until Dec. 24, Christmas Eve. The bell ringers would do two-hour shifts each. The Red Kettle campaign is the Salvation Army\u2019s fundraiser.<br \/>\nThe Salvation Army will also have a delivery of Thanksgiving meals to tent dwellers, low income families, and the homeless on Thanksgiving Day.<br \/>\nIt is also calling on the community to support their annual toy drive, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Saipan and Toys for Tots.<br \/>\nTo sign up as volunteer or for more information on how your business can participate, contact Pastor Wayne Gillespie at 483-0885 or gaprens@yahoo.com.
