Palacios announced that non-critical employees of the Commonwealth government may take an administrative leave on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Palacios noted that, even though it has been a tough year for the Commonwealth, there are still many things to be grateful for.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2026Our recovery and resiliency as a people are reasons to be greatly thankful for,\u201d he said. \u201cAs we celebrate Thanksgiving, we are reminded of the hard work being done every day by our public service employees.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDuring this critical time when our islands need it most, your dedication to service and your unwavering commitment are the reasons we are recovering swiftly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo all our government personnel, Gov. [Ralph DLG] Torres and I thank you all for your hard work and service to our community. And as we reflect on the graces we\u2019ve received this year, let us not forget those who are less fortunate than us this time of the year; use this day as a time for giving them something to be thankful for, the feeling of knowing that someone cares,\u201d Palacios said.<\/p>\n<p>Palacios made the announcement after Torres left the CNMI for official business in Japan.
