{"id":313423,"date":"2019-12-05T06:06:52","date_gmt":"2019-12-04T20:06:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=313423"},"modified":"2019-12-05T06:06:52","modified_gmt":"2019-12-04T20:06:52","slug":"karidat-wants-to-restock-food-pantry-via-rummage-sale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/karidat-wants-to-restock-food-pantry-via-rummage-sale\/","title":{"rendered":"Karidat wants to restock food pantry via rummage sale"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>To provide even more services to the community, Karidat Social Services is having a Christmas Rummage Sale on Dec. 21, Saturday, from 8am to 2pm, at its main office at the Sister Remedios Community Center in Chalan Kanoa.<\/p>\n<p>All proceeds will support the Karidat food pantry. \u2028\u201cWe have decided to open up a thrift shop and all of the proceeds from the thrift shop will go to restocking the food pantry,\u201d Karidat executive director Lauri Ogumoro.<\/p>\n<p>The Christmas rummage sale is Karidat\u2019s first, where donated goods and clothing would be put on sale, for $1 per bag, to generate funds to help sustain the organization\u2019s food services.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c$1 a bag because we are not trying to make a huge profit. We are just trying to keep our food pantry,\u201d Ogumoro added. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe hope to garner a lot of support from the community, for the community, especially for those who\u2026need\u2026food.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Karidat also has a Christmas Giving Tree where, for every food or monetary donation, an ornament will be affixed to the tree under the donor\u2019s name.
