I just play my role as the starting center and do what I can for the team. I’m gaining experience from this new level of competition,” Blake said.

At the Triton Men’s Basketball League, Blake and his squad have just completed the regular season of the six-team tournament and the former Kagman High School standout was ranked No. 4 among the scoring leaders on his team. The 6’2” player collected 62 points in 10 games for fourth place on the Tritons’ scoring leaders behind Michael Quan (287), Logan Hopkins (238), and Jerod Boles (132).

The UOG Tritons wrapped up the regular season with a 4-6 record for a tie for third place with the Four Stars, which eventually took the No. 3 seed by virtue of its advantage over the former in the head-to-head record. The Tritons will take on No. 5 seed Team Wu-Tang in the single-elimination playoffs with the winner advancing to the semis against the KFC Bombers. Four Stars and FSAG All-Stars (1-9) will collide in the other playoff match this Sunday for the right to face Team Gatorade in the semis next week.

Besides the Triton Men’s Basketball League, the Brent Tipton-coached UOG men’s cage team also plays in the Guam Basketball Association League, March Madness, and Guam Men’s College Basketball League.

Former CNMI national squad member Dean Blake is now with the University of Guam, suiting…

[5

post-313488","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-sports
["GET
