The Saipan Chamber of Commerce will be presenting three new awards during its 2019 Business Person of the Year Gala on Jan. 25, 2020, at Hyatt Regency Saipan\u2019s Regency Ballroom.<\/p>\n
Aside from the 2019 Business Person of the Year award, the organization will also present awards for the Chamber Business of the Year, Small Business of the Year, and Non-Profit of the Year to \u201chonor other organizations\/businesses in our Chamber membership and community,\u201d said Chamber president Velma Palacios.<\/p>\n
Nominees for the 2019 Small Business of the Year award should have fewer than 25 employees or less than $1 million in gross revenue and must have a business license and operating on Saipan for at least one year.<\/p>\n
To be eligible for the 2019 Nonprofit of the Year award, the non-profit must have local or federal 501(c) documentation, has been operating on Saipan for at least one year, and services rendered to Saipan residents.<\/p>\n
Chamber executive director Maxine Laszlo earlier named the three nominees for the prestigious 2019 Business Person of the Year: Pacific Islands Club Saipan general manager Gloria Cavanagh, The Shack owner Glen Hunter, and J.C. Tenorio Enterprises vice president Roman \u201cBo\u201d Palacios..<\/p>\n
Other awards the Chamber gives out yearly are its Saipan Young Professional of the Year Award and Chamber Member of the Year Award.<\/p>\n
Palacios invites the community to attend the 2019 Business Person of the Year Gala on Jan. 25 next year.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe theme is \u2018Roaring 20\u2019s,\u2019 where we hope to start the decade strong with lively music, fun, and celebration for all our Chamber members who provide for our economy and our people. Proceeds of the evening will directly support the programs and activities of the Chamber, such as its annual scholarships, educational workshops, employment training seminars, military vessel welcomes, and Saipan Young Professionals activities,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe are grateful to our Chamber members and their continued support in 2019. This event is our way to also give thanks to all our members. We encourage everyone to come out and join in the celebration,\u201d Palacios added.<\/p>\n
