The annual Paskong Pinoy organized by the United Filipino Organization drew a large crowd to the Marianas Business Plaza\u2019s covered parking lot from morning to night last Sunday, with hundreds showing their support for the organization\u2019s largest event of the year.<\/p>\n

UFO president Mar Masilungan believes it could be one of UFO\u2019s largest Paskong Pinoy events ever. \u201cIt was a very successful event and\u2026I think this was one of the bigger events\u2026in comparison [to previous Pistang Pinoys because the crowd was big and they stayed until the last minute and they were all here to support the program,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The highlight of the night was the Pera O Kahon game show. The gist of the game is that the player would choose one box out of five. Each box contains a prize, but only one box contained the $1,000 cash prize. The player is offered money for the box and is given the option to choose the cash or the box.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo one was not able to get the prize so we decided to raffle out an additional $200 just to cover that because they didn\u2019t get anything,\u201d Masilungan said.<\/p>\n

Other highlights of the evening were the parol (Christmas lantern)-making competition, Christmas carol competition, and a raffle drawing. There were also live music and performances.<\/p>\n

For his first Paskong Pinoy as president, Masilungan said the advantage he had this year was the number of volunteers, with over 40 men and women dedicating their time to the preparation of Paskong Pinoy.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt turned out really good, especially since this is my first time handling this kind of event, I\u2019m proud that we had so many volunteers that came out to help prepare. That was the biggest advantage for me. Of course, the TSL Foundation was our major sponsor so, without their sponsorship, I don\u2019t know if we could have had this event,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
