Saipan Southern High School will have a half-day session this Friday, Dec. 20, 2019. Students will be dismissed at 12:30pm. Christmas\u00a0break for SSHS will be from Dec. 23, 2019, to Jan. 3, 2019.\u00a0Classes will resume on Monday, Jan. 6, 2020.\u00a0 (PR)<\/p>\n
DMS to release mid-progress reports<\/p>\n
Dandan Middle School will distribute the second quarter mid-progress reports to parents and guardians on Thursday, Dec. 19, from 4pm to 6pm.\u00a0Please proceed to your child’s homeroom.\u00a0In addition, sign up for an appointment with the content teachers if you have questions on your child’s progress report.
\nThe school\u2019s Parents Teachers Students Association is hosting the Totot\u00a0Bash on Friday, Jan. 31, 2020, from 5pm to 9pm. Currently, students, teachers, and parents are selling raffle tickets for the annual bash. UOG to celebrate ROTC alumni <\/p>\n
All alumni of the University of Guam\u2019s Reserve Officers Training Corps program, as well as their guests and the public, are invited to an alumni dinner event this Friday in support of the Military Science Department at the university. The event will begin promptly at 7pm in the UOG Calvo Field House. Attendees are asked to make a donation of $50 per attendee over the age of 18.
\nThe event aims to connect current ROTC cadets with former cadets who have had fulfilling careers in the U.S. Army in order to inspire pride in the cadets for what their future holds as commissioned officers.\u00a0
\nThe donation will cover the dinner with the remainder going to the\u00a0ROTC Military Science Fund within the\u00a0University of Guam Endowment Foundation to support the enrichment of the ROTC cadet experience. Donations may be made at\u00a0https:\/\/give.uog.edu\/donate\/rotc-military-science-fund\/.

Military to conduct trainings\u00a0<\/p>\n
ASAN, Guam\u2014The U.S. Air Force will conduct training at the island of Farallon de Medinilla on Dec. 19, from 10am to 10 am
\nTraining will be conducted within a 12-nautical mile radius of Farallon de Medinilla. For the duration of the exercise the public, fishermen, and marine tour operators are advised to remain clear of this area and monitor the U.S. Coast Guard broadcast notice to mariners for advisories.
\nHelicopter Sea Combat Squadron 25 is conducting training at the Dandan training site in Inarajan until Dec. 19, from 11am to 11:55am.
\nThese types of trainings are designed to enhance the readiness of military personnel. Residents in surrounding areas should not be alarmed if they see or hear increased activity associated with the training. The public should be advised that routine helicopter training often accompanied with the use of blanks can occur during these trainings.
\nThe U.S. Navy will also conduct training today, Dec. 18, from 8am to 8 am in Outer Apra Harbor at coordinates: 13\u02da26\u201956”N\/144\u02da39\u201956’E.
\nThe public and marine operators are advised to remain alert of military personnel who will be swimming in the water as part of the training event.
