{"id":314604,"date":"2019-12-24T06:00:11","date_gmt":"2019-12-23T20:00:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=314604"},"modified":"2019-12-24T06:00:11","modified_gmt":"2019-12-23T20:00:11","slug":"participants-sought-for-pacific-leaders-seminar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/participants-sought-for-pacific-leaders-seminar\/","title":{"rendered":"Participants sought for Pacific leaders seminar"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Applicants are now being accepted for developing youth leaders in the U.S territories in the Pacific, Hawaii, and the Freely Associated States who want to participate in the 2020 Young Pacific Leaders Conference.<\/p>\n<p>The U.S territories in the Pacific are American Samoa, Guam, and the CNMI. The FAS are the Federated States of Micronesia, Republic of Palai, and the Republic of the Marshall Islands.<\/p>\n<p>The conference will be held in New Guinea in the third week of April next year. The deadline for applications is on Feb 3, 2020.<\/p>\n<p>The YPL Conference will include informational sessions, skills workshops, cultural activities, and site visits to \u201cdeepen participants\u2019 capacity to address regional issues related to YPL\u2019s four programmatic themes.\u201d The themes are education, environment and resource management, civic leadership, and economic and social development.<\/p>\n<p>This will be the seventh edition of the YPL. Youth leaders in the Pacific, between 25 to 35 years old, would be exchanging knowledge and skills for the advancement of the region\u2019s economy and close cooperation.<\/p>\n<p>Outstanding alumni of previous conferences are also able to participate in the 2020 YPL conferences as alumni mentors. All applications are due by Feb. 3, 2020, and can be completed online. Participants will be required to attend the full conference program, which is from April 21-24, 2020, not including travelling days.
