Falcons players are ahead in the batting and pitching contests in the Major division of the 2014 Saipan Little League Baseball.
\nJustin Cangco moved up from fourth to first place in the batting leaderboard with his .600 average. He went 18-for-30 at bat after last week\u2019s games, which saw the Falcons book back-to-back lopsided wins against the GSM Twins, 25-0, and Twins, 32-1.<\/p>\n

The Falcons first baseman dislodged erstwhile leader Spencer Dickinson, as the IT&E big hitter dropped to second with his batting average of .590. Dickinson was 20-for-34 after last Sunday\u2019s matches and share the No. 2 spot with teammate Philip Kapileo, who was 17-for-29. The Braves\u2019 Joe Tudela (.580\/15-for-26), the Falcons\u2019 Angel Iguel (.570\/17-for-30), and the Braves\u2019 Vicente Camacho (.560\/14-for-25) rounded on the Top 5.
\nThe Falcons\u2019 Aven Evangelista, who tied Dickinson for the batting lead two weeks ago, fell to sixth place with his .550 off a 16-for-29 performance. Completing the list are IP&E Rockies\u2019 Tyrese Camacho (.545), the Red Sox\u2019s Kiana Aldan (.540), the Hustlers\u2019 Juan Lizama (.540), IT&E\u2019s Christopher Achas (.520), the Little Legals\u2019 Pedro Maratita (.500), Comets I\u2019s Francisco Frederick (.500), the JPO Enforcers\u2019 Rikko Lizama (.480), and the Braves\u2019 Robin Sablan (.480).<\/p>\n

The batting leaders are based on 24 or more at bats.<\/p>\n

In the pitching race, Arby Yaguel, who shut down the Jets last week, did not only break into the chart, but also took the top spot with his 0.71 ERA. He pitched 17 innings and allowed only two runs.<\/p>\n

Yaguel leads Pedro Maratita, who moved from third to second with his 0.92 ERA after giving up only four runs in 26 innings.
\nThe Falcons\u2019 Max Pangelinan is back in the leaderboard, occupying third place, followed by the Braves\u2019 Vicente Camacho, the Little Legals\u2019 Gloyd Martin Jr. and the Braves\u2019 Robin Sablan. Pangelinan pitched 19 innings and allowed only three earned runs for an ERA of 0.95, while Camacho has an ERA of 1.00 (18 innings, three runs allowed), and Martin and Sablan have similar 1.06 ERAs off 17 innings pitched (three earned runs allowed).<\/p>\n

In the strikeouts category, Maratita is ahead with 64, pacing Dickinson (59), Camacho (57), the Red Sox\u2019s Jode Reyes (49) and Laolao Bay and former pitching leader J.P. Celis (43).<\/p>\n

For the doubles and triples divisions, Tudela and Achas are on top with seven and five, respectively, while Cangco is slightly ahead in the RBIs category with his 20 against the 19 of Evangelista. In the homer run, Thomas Agulto has the most so far with three, while Trevon Lieto, Aldan, and Angel Iguel have two apiece. IP&E\u2019s Dai Podziewski is still the leader in the runs category with 23, just ahead by one against Dickinson, Angel Iguel and Evangelista.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
