Our issue is with adults, especially immigrants who come from countries where they did not need to be vaccinated,” she said.

Travis said only about 50% of the adults in the CNMI are updated in their vaccinations compared to the 90% of the youth.

Travis said the CHCC immunization program has successfully increased the coverage in the youth by partnering with schools, in contrast with the adults.

“We are pretty well covered, especially with measles, which can have deadly consequences for young people,” she said.

The immunization program is working on conducting outreach in the community to cater to adults.

The pharmacy offers walk-in adult vaccinations—they have all the vaccinations you need, according to Travis.
