2020 Red Cross Walkathon Set for April 25<\/p>\n
The American Red Cross-NMI Chapter\u2019s 2020 Walkathon will take place on April 25, a Saturday. The event will include a 10K walk and lots of fun and games for the entire family. Registration for NMC\u2019s Adult Basic Education Program begins today<\/p>\n
The Northern Marianas College\u2019s Adult Basic Education or ABE program, which focuses on meeting the educational needs of adult learners, has announced the following dates for Session 3:
\nJan. 13-17, 2020
\nCASAS Placement Testing: 1pm (by appointment only), Bldg. M-2
\nRegistration: 10am-5pm, Bldg. M
\nJan. 27, 2020: First day of instruction
\nFeb. 24-27, 2020:\u00a0Student evaluation of instructor & class
\nMarch 9, 2020:\u00a0Last day of instruction (Post-testing for those with 40-plus hours of instruction)
\nNew students and those who have been out of the ABE program for more than a year must make an appointment at the Adult Basic Education Office located in Building M to take the CASAS Assessment Test. New phone numbers for Guam National Guard<\/p>\n
In order to better align our network with that of our sister services on island, throughout the nation and around the world, the Guam National Guard will be changing its current phone system to fall under the Defense Information Systems Agency. The implementation of the new system and phone numbers will take effect today, Jan.13, 2020.
\nDuring the initial onset of this implementation, which will take place from Jan. 13 to 17, the current phone numbers will automatically forward to the new numbers. However, once full implementation is complete, the old numbers will drop off.

Tumon Bay Music Festival starts Feb. 27<\/p>\n
TUMON BAY, Guam\u2014The Tumon Bay Music Festival 2020, brought to you by the Guam Territorial Band Society, is celebrating 16th year of promoting musical arts in the Marianas. It is the region\u2019s largest music festival featuring musicians from across Guam, Rota, Saipan, and Japan.
\nCome and enjoy the music at numerous venues across Guam beginning Feb. 27 and ending with the finale concert on March 7 featuring the Concordia Mass Choir, festival honor bands, and the International Wind Orchestra. Go to\u00a0tbmfguam.org for more information. (PR)<\/p>\n
Saturday writing workshops<\/p>\n
The Marianas Writers Movement will have a series of Saturday workshops. Each workshop will be two hours, beginning at 1:30pm in the VTC Room of the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library. The workshops, \u201cBeyond the First Draft,\u201d will focus on the editing process. These workshops are open to all over age 13, and are free.
\nEach workshop is different in content. Here is the tentative schedule for topics:
