{"id":315756,"date":"2020-01-16T06:00:01","date_gmt":"2020-01-15T20:00:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=315756"},"modified":"2020-01-16T06:00:01","modified_gmt":"2020-01-15T20:00:01","slug":"rotary-welcomes-2-new-members","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/rotary-welcomes-2-new-members\/","title":{"rendered":"Rotary welcomes 2 new members"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Rotary Club of Saipan inducted two new members into its ranks last Jan. 14 during the club\u2019s regular Tuesday meeting at the Hyatt Regency Saipan\u2019s Giovanni\u2019s restaurant.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_315757\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-315757\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Marvin-Deleon-Guerrero-mug-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-315757\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-315757\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">DeLeon Guerrero<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The new members are Marvin Deleon Guerrero, who is assistant vice president and branch manager at Bank Pacific, and Hiroko Stewart, who used to work for Dow Chemical.<\/p>\n<p>President-elect Sonya Dancoe, who will take over the Rotary Club of Saipan next year, helped affix club-specific pins on the new members\u2019 lapels to acknowledge them as official members.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_315758\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-315758\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Hiroko-Stewart-mug-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-315758\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-315758\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Stewart<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Stewart, who just retired after 30 years with Dow Chemical, said she looks forward to being a Rotary member and the chance to help with the club\u2019s international campaign against polio and providing clean water in other countries.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter 30 years of working, this is a great time to join the club so that I can shift my focus on the community,\u201d said Stewart.<\/p>\n<p>Deleon Guerrero, on the other hand, thanked Rotary Club of Saipan president Maricia Ayuyu and Rotary Club of Saipan officers for their warm welcome and for making his membership official.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s such an honor to be a member of this prestigious organization,\u201d said Deleon Guerrero. \u201cI look forward to further networking with other business professionals.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Deleon Guerrero has been with Bank Pacific for three years now but has been in the banking industry for four years. He\u2019s also a musician outside of his day job.<\/p>\n<p>The Rotary Club of Saipan also had two guest speakers last Tuesday: Bishop Ryan P.
