I know you…are picking up the trash and I want to thank you…for that and for also caring about our environment,” he said.

Apatang, along with one of the coordinators, Judy Kim, later presented the students with certificates to thank them for participating in beach cleanups.

According to Saipan Mayor’s Office student exchange coordinator Yuki Kishimoto, they weren’t able to fit the whole group into the conference room so they were split into two groups of 45 students each. The first 45 students met with Apatang last Jan. 17 and the next group will also meet with him on Jan. 23.

According to one of the coordinators of the Asian Pacific Center of English School, Yo Hon Park, the students are currently studying English, depending on their level of English skills, at Mount Carmel School.

Apatang encouraged the students to take lot of pictures so they can encourage their families and peers to visit the CNMI, too.

The group is being chaperoned by seven teachers and three coordinators from the Asia Pacific Center of English School.

KW: Asia Pacific Center of English School
MD: Apatang thanks Korean students for beach clean-up

The Saipan Mayor’s Office was inundated last Friday by 45 students from different parts of…

[4

post-315911","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-local-news
["GET
