CNMI Drug Enforcement Task Force officers arrested in the past two days two women and a man for allegedly trafficking methamphetamine or \u201cice\u201d on Saipan.<\/p>\n
Sharleen Arriola, 39, Shuihua Qi, 54, also known as Mindy, and Wei Meng Ling, 27, also known as Brother, were arrested for trafficking of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.<\/p>\n
Arriola, Qi, and Ling were brought yesterday before Superior Court Associate Judge Wesley Bogdan, who imposed a $100,000 cash bail on each defendant.<\/p>\n
Preliminary hearing for Arriola will be on Feb. 5 at 9am, for Qi on Feb. 4 at 1:30pm, and for Ling on Feb. 7 at 10am.<\/p>\n
DETF officer Melvin D. Cadiang stated in his report that a \u201ccooperating source\u201d informed them on Oct. 18, 2019, about Arriola\u2019s drug distribution activities<\/p>\n
Cadiang said that, according to the \u201ccooperating source,\u201d he\/she managed to buy $40 worth of methamphetamine from Arriola at her home in Susupe last Oct. 17.<\/p>\n
DETF officer Samylyn T. Atalig stated in her report that their \u201ccooperating source\u201d was able to purchase $100 worth of \u201cice\u201d from Arriola during a \u201cbuy-walk\u201d operation at her residence last Oct. 18, 2019.<\/p>\n
Using the same \u201ccooperating source\u201d on Oct. 25, 2019, the task force was allegedly able to buy $100 worth of \u201cice\u201d from Arriola during a second \u201cbuy-walk\u201d operation in a parking lot of a store in As Lito.<\/p>\n
In Qi\u2019s case, Cadiang stated in his report that they were able to buy $1,200 worth of \u201cice\u201d from Qi in the parking lot of her apartment in Garapan during a \u201cbuy-walk\u201d operation last Dec. 19.<\/p>\n
Cadiang said they were able to buy $1,200 more worth of \u201cice\u201d from Qi through the same \u201ccooperating source\u201d last Dec. 20 in a parking lot of a poker arcade in Chalan Piao.<\/p>\n
In Ling\u2019s case, Cadiang said a \u201ccooperating defendant\u201d informed them last Dec. 27 that he\/she was able to buy a gram of \u201cice\u201d from Brother, who was later identified as Ling.<\/p>\n
Ling then allegedly offered the \u201ccooperating source\u201d five grams of \u201cice\u201d for $2,100.<\/p>\n
