(Thomas A. The competition will commence at 9am at the House of Justice and is expected to end around noon.

According to junior high mock trial coordinator Eulalia Villagomez, this year’s mock trial event has the largest school participation. Participating schools are Admiral Herbert G. Hopwood Junior High School, Chacha Ocean View Middle School, Rota’s Dr. Rita H. Inos Junior High School, Rota’s Eskuelan San Francisco de Borja, Rota’s Grace Christian Academy, Mount Carmel School, Tinian Junior High School, and Whispering Palms School.

“I think this will be the best one because we have more participants than previous years,” Villagomez told Saipan Tribune.

Although the schools will be arguing the same case as the recent High School Mock Trial competition, the event is not competitive. However, individual students will be recognized for their outstanding performances after each round.

This year Superior Court judges Joseph Camacho and Teresa Kim-Tenorio and associate justices Perry Inos and John Manglona will be presiding over the junior high trials. Manglona will be delivering the opening remarks.

Villagomez is inviting members of the community to attend the free event because “it is fun to watch, students really get in touch with their roles as lawyers and witnesses.”

The event will also mark the Humanities Council’s 10th year of hosting the junior high mock trial.

The Northern Mariana Humanities Council, in collaboration with the Guma’ Hustisia, will host the 10th…

[4
88
post-31727","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-local-news","tag-superior-court
["GET
