{"id":318130,"date":"2020-02-26T06:00:41","date_gmt":"2020-02-25T20:00:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=318130"},"modified":"2020-02-26T06:00:41","modified_gmt":"2020-02-25T20:00:41","slug":"saipan-marathon-early-bird-signup-extended","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/saipan-marathon-early-bird-signup-extended\/","title":{"rendered":"Saipan Marathon early bird signup extended"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Great news for those running late.<\/p>\n<p>Saipan Marathon 2020,  scheduled for March 14, is extending its early bird signup rates through the final registration deadline.<\/p>\n<p>For international participants, registration is $100 for the full marathon and $70 for the half marathon\/10K\/5K. The last day to register for international participants is Feb. 27 at 5pm (ChST). For CNMI and USA students, the signup for full marathon is $55, $45 for half marathon\/10K\/5K, and $30 for students with valid ID.<\/p>\n<p> The last day to register for CNMI\/USA registrants is March 6 at 5pm. After Feb. 27, CNMI\/USA registrants must register in person at the Marianas Visitors Authority office in San Jose, Saipan.<\/p>\n<p>Saipan Marathon is an annual signature event of the MVA aimed at drawing visitors and media attention to the destination. This year\u2019s race adds a 5K course to to the event.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are pleased to extend early bird rates to both international and local participants joining Saipan Marathon 2020, and we hope this will encourage more people to try it out and have some fun running and walking together,\u201d said MVA managing director Priscilla M. Iakopo. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are all grateful that The Marianas is free to date from any suspected or confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus, but given the impact of the virus on tourism and the local economy, we know it\u2019s the right decision to keep rates low this year for everyone.
