Joel Castro Camacho (R-Saipan) immediately got his office to work on fixing the decades-old beach sign, soon after a car rammed the beach landmark sign about two months ago.

“We wanted to do something different,” Camacho said. “The old sign was really sentimental because it has been 25 years since it has been up so we wanted to memorialize the sign by enhancing it.”

He said they did not want to leave the sign sitting destroyed for a long time since they have office funds to fix it. An initial problem was finding workers, particularly a mason and a helper, but Camacho’s office was able to soon resolve this.

Aside from the PauPau Beach sign, more projects are in the works. “I’ll be working on doing one for Tanapag Beach and then Capital Hill for the sports facility, so we have two more we’re working on, and then we’re going to be upgrading [the sign] going to As Matuis. We are working little by little, but we’re getting there,” Camacho said.

The projects are in line with Precinct 4’s vision to enhance and rehabilitate recreational facilities in the area, for the community to enjoy, as well as to entice more tourists.

Camacho hopes that members of the community would help keep the sign clean.

“[I] just [want to] encourage the community to appreciate it. There’s a lot of hard work that goes into every project we undertake,” the representative said.

Camacho also appealed for everyone’s consideration and understanding in helping keep all signs and recreational areas clean, including respect for all the projects that are being built within the precinct.

Yet another improvement project in Precinct 4 has come to a completion with the PauPau…

[4

post-318193","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-local-news
["GET
