{"id":318712,"date":"2020-03-06T17:29:06","date_gmt":"2020-03-06T07:29:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=318712"},"modified":"2020-03-06T17:29:06","modified_gmt":"2020-03-06T07:29:06","slug":"breaking-news-all-clear-declared-at-mhs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/breaking-news-all-clear-declared-at-mhs\/","title":{"rendered":"BREAKING NEWS: All-clear declared at MHS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At about 12:45pm, on Friday, March 6, 2020, the CNMI Department of Public Safety received a report of an email threat sent from a Marianas High School student email account.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The school was then placed on lockdown. At approximately 1pm, federal and local agencies were on scene and ready to conduct an extensive search throughout the campus; this included the students and their classrooms.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>After a rigorous search was conducted no weapon was found and no suspect has been apprehended at this time.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>At about 2:53pm, an all-clear was declared, and the lockdown was lifted. Students were then released to their bus, parent, or legal guardians. Although an all-clear was declared, law enforcement agencies remained at the scene, to further assure the safety of the students as they made their way away from the area.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>DPS would like to thank the parents and guardians for their patience as the safety of the students were of the highest priority.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>If\u00a0you\u00a0or someone\u00a0you\u00a0know want to report a\u00a0crime\u00a0that occurred in\u00a0your\u00a0school, we encourage you to call 911.\u00a0If\u00a0you\u00a0would like to remain anonymous call the CNMI\u00a0Crime\u00a0Stoppers hotline at 234-7272.
