A team simply named The Marianas was the biggest winner in last Saturday\u2019s 1st Wahoo in the Marianas fishing tournament organized by the \u201cTasi to Table\u201d Youth Fishing Club.<\/p>\n
The Marianas caught a 33.60-lb wahoo to claim the $2,000 first place prize during awards ceremony held later that day at the Smiling Cove Marina.<\/p>\n
Aside from the monster wahoo, the crew of The Marianas also reeled in two more wahoos weighing 19.20 lbs and 16.60 lbs.<\/p>\n
Another team called Sea Infection came in second with their 32.70-lb catch and won $1,500. In third place was the Rainbow Runners, which caught an 18.70-lbs wahoo and went home with $1,000. Coming in fourth, was Team Victoria which won the $500 prize with their 17.70-lb wahoo.<\/p>\n
A total of 51 boats registered to take part in the fishing tournament that was organized by the \u201cTasi to Table\u201d Youth Fishing Club with support from the Saipan Fisherman Association.<\/p>\n
Wayne Pangelinan, SFA spokesperson, wants to thank their sponsors for being present with their support for the program. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe congratulate our winners captain Jess Muna and crew, captain Chris Pangelinan and crew, and captain Ray Aldan and crew. We are thankful that all boaters returned safely and we will see you all next year,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The main sponsors of the fishing tournament were IT&E and Mobil Oil Marianas. Other sponsors are Roil Soil Clothing and Bank of Saipan.<\/p>\n
