The 2020 CNMI wide STEM Fair saw its largest number of participants with over 170 participants from all grade levels. <\/p>\n
Marianas High School hosted the 2020 CNMI Public School System Island Wide Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math fair last Saturday with a total of 179 participants. <\/p>\n
However, PSS has banned interscholastic travel due to the recent outbreak of COVID19 so winners may not be able to participate in the regional Island Sustainability Conference. <\/p>\n
MHS took the win for the fourth year in a row in the Green Dream Competition, besting Saipan Southern High School, who took second place, and Agape Christian School who took third. <\/p>\n
In the High School Research category, SSHS\u2019 Iris Lee took first with her stroll to Tinian project, followed by Shoyu Du of Agape who did a project on Plants and Maggots, and completing the top 3 was Hannali Nerizon from Rota High School for her Acid Rain project. <\/p>\n
For High School Sciences, Rota High School\u2019s Shaniyah Cabrera took first place for her project on reusing plastic, followed by Jun You from Grace Christian Academy who did a project on filtration, and completing the top 3 was Mount Carmel School\u2019s Kyla Cabrera for her project on fats found in snacks. <\/p>\n
For Middle School Sciences, Sinapalo Elementary School\u2019s Rianna Barcinas took first place for her project on animal manners, followed by Rota High School\u2019s Tammy Fernandez who placed second with her coral bleaching project. Following close behind at third was Rota High\u2019s \u00c9clair Ladao for her project on sweets. <\/p>\n
For the third to fifth grade research, Keeff Matando took first place with his project on therapeutic class boards, followed by Piper Christian for his project on ocean water. At third place was George Vinuya for his project on conductivity. <\/p>\n
For the Kindergarten to second grade category, Sophia Smith of Brilliant Star School took first place for her hydroponics project with GCA\u2019s En Mei Huang taking second for his project on earthquakes. Julia Samantha\u2019s project on mini generators won her third place. <\/p>\n
For the paper plane competition, Garapan Elementary School\u2019s Carl Hocog took home first place, followed by Koblerville Elementary School\u2019s Jared Saures, and at third place was Kagman Elementary School\u2019s Christopher Tagabuel.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
