{"id":319942,"date":"2020-03-27T06:06:57","date_gmt":"2020-03-26T20:06:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=319942"},"modified":"2020-03-27T06:06:57","modified_gmt":"2020-03-26T20:06:57","slug":"guidelines-for-parishioners","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/guidelines-for-parishioners\/","title":{"rendered":"Guidelines for parishioners"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In light of the continuing health crisis we are currently dealing with, the clergy of the Diocese of Chalan Kanoa, in their meeting last March 24 2020, decided to continue across all parishes the following directives:<\/p>\n<p>\t\u2022\tNo public Mass until further notice.<br \/>\n\t\u2022\tEveryone is invited to participate in the online Mass via:<br \/>\n\t\u2022\tFacebook @dioceseofchalankanoa<br \/>\n\t\u2022\tDaily:  \t\t6am\/6pm<br \/>\n\t\u2022\tSunday:\t6am\/9am\/11am\/6pm<br \/>\n\t\u2022\tCable TV Channel 6<br \/>\n\t\u2022\tDaily:\t\t6am\/6pm<br \/>\n\t\u2022\tSunday:\t6am\/9am\/11am\/6pm<br \/>\n\t\u2022\tRadio on 1440AM and 92.1 FM<br \/>\n\t\u2022\tDaily:\t\t6am\/10am\/6pm<br \/>\n\t\u2022\tFor those who want to pray in private, all churches will remain open from 7am to 1pm.<br \/>\n\t\u2022\tEveryone is encouraged to strictly practice social distancing.<\/p>\n<p>Also, as health precautionary measures and in keeping with the Enhanced Social Distancing Memorandum issued by the Office of the governor, the following will be observed during the Holy Week:<\/p>\n<p>\t\u2022\tPALM SUNDAY (APRIL 5)<\/p>\n<p> No public blessing of palms.<br \/>\n A separate time will be designated later in the year for actual blessing of palms in parishes.<br \/>\n Mass will be celebrated without congregation at designated churches:<br \/>\n\t\u2022\tSaipan \u2013 Mt. Carmel Cathedral<br \/>\n\t\u2022\tRota \u2013 San Francisco de Borja Church<br \/>\n\t\u2022\tTinian \u2013 San Jose Church<br \/>\nParishioners are invited to participate via Facebook, cable TV and\/or radio. Livestreaming will follow the regular Sunday schedule.<\/p>\n<p>\t\u2022\tCHRISM MASS (APRIL 8)<\/p>\n<p> Mass will be celebrated without the congregation at Mt. Carmel Cathedral. Parishioners are invited to participate via Facebook, cable TV and\/or radio. Livestreaming begins at 7pm.<br \/>\n\t\u2022<br \/>\n\t\u2022\tHOLY THURSDAY (APRIL 9)<br \/>\n\t\u2022<br \/>\n Mass of the Lord\u2019s Supper will be celebrated without congregation at designated churches:<br \/>\n\t\u2022\tSaipan \u2013 Mt. Carmel Cathedral<br \/>\n\t\u2022\tRota \u2013 San Francisco de Borja Church<br \/>\n\t\u2022\tTinian \u2013 San Jose Church<br \/>\n Parishioners are invited to participate via Facebook, cable TV and\/or radio. Livestreaming begins at 6pm.<br \/>\n Following the decree from Congregation on Divine Worship and Discipline of Sacraments, parishioners are reminded of the following:<br \/>\n\t\u2022\tNo washing of the feet<br \/>\n\t\u2022\tNo transfer of the Blessed Sacrament to the Altar of Repose<br \/>\n\t\u2022\tNo vigil and \u201cVisita Iglesia\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\t\u2022\tGOOD FRIDAY (APRIL 10)<\/p>\n<p> Schedule of worship services without congregation will be as follows:<br \/>\n\t\u2022\tStations of the Cross at 8am.<br \/>\n\t\u2022\tDivine Mercy at 12pm.<br \/>\n\t\u2022\tSeven Last Words at 1pm.<br \/>\n Parishioners are invited to participate via Facebook, cable TV and\/or radio. Livestreaming of all services will be as indicated.<br \/>\n Commemoration of the Lord\u2019s Passion, Veneration of the Cross, and Communion Service without congregation will be done simultaneously at designated churches:<br \/>\n\t\u2022\tSaipan \u2013 Mt. Carmel Cathedral<br \/>\n\t\u2022\tRota \u2013 San Francisco de Borja Church<br \/>\n\t\u2022\tTinian \u2013 San Jose Church<br \/>\n Parishioners are invited to participate via Facebook, cable TV and\/or radio. Livestreaming begins at 3pm.<br \/>\n Following the decree from Congregation on Divine Worship and Discipline of Sacraments, parishioners are reminded of the following:<br \/>\n\t\u2022\tNo annual trek to Mt. Tapochao and similar activities on Rota and Tinian.<br \/>\n\t\u2022\tNo islandwide processions on all three islands.<br \/>\n\t\u2022\tNo veneration of the \u201cSanto Entiero\u201d<br \/>\n\t\u2022<br \/>\n\t\u2022\tEASTER VIGIL (APRIL 11)<br \/>\n\t\u2022<br \/>\n Vigil will be celebrated without congregation at designated churches:<br \/>\n\t\u2022\tSaipan \u2013 Mt. Carmel Cathedral<br \/>\n\t\u2022\tRota \u2013 San Francisco de Borja Church<br \/>\n\t\u2022\tTinian \u2013 San Jose Church<br \/>\n Parishioners are invited to participate via Facebook, cable TV and\/or radio.<br \/>\nLivestreaming begins at 7pm.<\/p>\n<p>\t\u2022\tEASTER SUNDAY (APRIL 12)<br \/>\n\t\u2022<br \/>\n Mass will be celebrated without congregation at designated churches:<br \/>\n\t\u2022\tSaipan \u2013 Mt. Carmel Cathedral<br \/>\n\t\u2022\tRota \u2013 San Francisco de Borja Church<br \/>\n\t\u2022\tTinian \u2013 San Jose Church<br \/>\n Parishioners are invited to participate via Facebook, cable TV and\/or radio. Livestreaming will follow the regular Sunday schedule.<br \/>\nIn all celebrations the parishioners are reminded of the following:<br \/>\n Observe customary ways of disposing oneself when participating at Live broadcasts of Mass and other worship services as if one is attending physically at the church.<br \/>\n Pray and reflect in silence.<br \/>\n Sacrament of Reconciliation is highly encouraged. Contact your respective pastors to schedule a specific date and time.
