The CNMI Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services has expanded the number of personnel assigned to the Governor\u2019s COVID-19 Task Force in response to the global pandemic.<\/p>\n
Last Monday, March 23, 2020, the Department of Fire and EMS activated 13 personnel to assist with the COVID-19 pandemic, adding to meet the required needs throughout the week.<\/p>\n
This is in addition to the 27 firefighter personnel that DFEMS activated last Saturday, March 28, 2020, after receiving information of the two positive cases of COVID-19 in the CNMI.<\/p>\n
DFEMS\u2019 primary objectives are to:<\/p>\n
– Transport passengers from the Francisco C. Ada\/Saipan International Airport to Kanoa Resort (designated quarantine facility).<\/p>\n
– Escort airline passengers to assigned rooms.<\/p>\n
– Deliver drop-off items to patients in their rooms and persons under investigation.<\/p>\n
– Transport PUI from the Commonwealth Health Center to quarantine site.<\/p>\n
– Decontaminate after every drop-off, transport, and contact with any quarantined person(s).<\/p>\n
– Assist CHC medical personnel by remaining on standby for 24 hours for any emergency transport needed for quarantined person(s)<\/p>\n
– Assist CHCC in conducting secondary health assessment to all inbound passengers.<\/p>\n
DFEMS continues to support the Governor\u2019s COVID-19 Task Force and its emergency medical support function.
