MONROYO)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Trench Tech\u2019s Vince \u201cThe Clinch\u201d Masga will be putting both his bantamweight title and perfect record on the line when he takes on Spike 22 and Countershot Guam\u2019s Rick \u201c2Slick\u201d Camp tomorrow in the main event in Rites of Passage 16: Unleashed at the Royal Taga Hall of the Saipan World Resort.<\/p>\n<p>Masga holds a 5-0 mark and took the bantamweight crown from Guam\u2019s Josh \u201cThe Hedgedog\u201d Alvarez during the ROP 14: Mayhem in April last year. Masga dethroned Alvarez after winning via rear-naked choke at the 2:37 mark of the second of their five-round bout.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI will do my best to defend my title. I\u2019ve been training for the last three months, working on my stamina and fighting skills, and I hope these will be enough to get another win. You can\u2019t really tell what\u2019s going to happen out there so you just have to be prepared and go all out,\u201d said Masga when asked about his chances against Camp.<\/p>\n<p>Masga said he is working on his standup and kickboxing skills, but his best weapon remains to be his wrestling abilities.<\/p>\n<p>The Masga-Camp title fight is one of the 12 MMA bouts scheduled in ROP 16, which will have its weigh-in today at GIG from 5pm to 7pm.<\/p>\n<p>Zalaka\u2019s Allan \u201cThe Silver Bullet\u201d Zalaka and HBP Guam\u2019s Ernie Santos will open the mixed martial arts action tomorrow as they collide in a 125-lb bout. Also dueling in a 125-lb catch weight are Trench Tech\u2019s Seongho Chung and D2S\u2019 Jay \u201cBonbon\u201d Camacho.<\/p>\n<p>Another Trench Tech\u2019s bet Walt \u201cThe Silent Assault\u201d Florencio will be featured in ROP 16, as he challenges GMT\/UX Jarome Cruz of Guam at 145 lbs, while the other 145-lb bout will have Tinian\u2019s Haini \u201cThe Protigy\u201d Hofschneider debuting against GMT\/UX\u2019s Rob Eclavea.<\/p>\n<p>Other MMA fights slated tomorrow are Jones Langu vs. Lenny \u201cThe Machine Gun\u201d Sablan at 135 lbs; Mitchel Torre vs. Eric Sian at 185-195 lbs; Mikey Sanchez vs. K.J. \u201cMan Down\u201d Villagomez at 135 lbs; Scotty \u201cDa Slaya\u201d Eclavea vs. Josh \u201cOh My Gosh\u201d Cruz at 135 lbs; Ryan \u201cThe Predator\u201d Toves vs. Jun Taitingfong at 160 lbs; Rocky \u201cRockstar\u201d Quichocho vs. Slade \u201cThe Rage\u201d Adelbai at 220 lbs; and Jose \u201cYoung Blood\u201d Ramirez vs. Ning \u201cThe Slicer\u201d Cepeda at 155 lbs.<\/p>\n<p>Before the MMA bouts, Trench Tech\u2019s season-opening offering will have three kickboxing match. The first one with have U.M.A. Gym\/Team Ultimate Guam\u2019s Ethan \u201cTyphoon\u201d Reyes battling D2S\u2019 Jonathan \u201cBritt\u201d Camacho at 125 lbs, while Jasper \u201cThe Disaster\u201d Van Der Maas will face Primo Po in the second K1 tiff.
