While many businesses are temporarily closing down due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Digital Saipan\u2019s Islandride Delivery launched their service last Wednesday that aims to lend an extra hand to business owners in the retail and restaurant business and individuals in the community who opt to stay at home to prevent infection and the spread of the virus by delivering goods, groceries, and food right at your doorstep.<\/p>\n

DigitalSaipan Marketing manager Robert Exley said this is the time to think about stepping up and helping the community thrive during this time. \u201cWe hope to be able to eliminate five to six people going out by using one person\u2026 we currently take no fees from drivers or merchants to aid in alleviating this crisis,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll money earned goes to our brave delivery people who risk their health to flatten the curve at least for the first month,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Islandride Delivery is one of the services of Islandride App that was launched in January this year, dubbed as Saipan\u2019s version of Uber and Grab and offers to transport people, goods, and services though ridesharing. Their pool of drivers have been vetted and completed all the requirements.<\/p>\n

Exley said that this will help businesses expand their reach especially restaurants that currently operate via take-out orders only. \u201cWe can set up for a small fee an online store presence that will work with this software for any merchant. This includes restaurants, farms, general stores, any place you would normally go to shop,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is too important of a time to worry about competition as Eats Easy has a similar service,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Aside from IslandRide App and IslandRide Delivery, Exley unveiled plans of opening the website \u201cIslandRideStore.com\u201d in the near future at the IslandRide launch last January. That is envisioned as a digital marketplace, where the community can buy and sell goods, furniture, appliances etc.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe IslandRide Store is a medium where the community can sell goods to one another, making trade and exchange convenient for the community and have IslandRide drivers deliver the goods right at your doorstep,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
