(IVA MAURIN)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Much-deserved appreciation is going to the CNMI\u2019s front-liners, with E-Land Group and its local holding company, Micronesia Resort Inc., donating 130 \u201cthank you\u201d packages for medical staff and first responders who are working to make sure the coronavirus is contained, and stopped, on the islands.<\/p>\n<p>Each package contains a massager, health supplements, snacks, and a card. Micronesia Resort Inc. chief executive officer Brian Shin said that the donation is an expression of gratitude to health workers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is the time that we need to pull together,\u201d Shin said. \u201cThere are people that we need to remember. They&#8217;re putting their lives in front of, for the community. These are the first responders and medical staff.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Shin hopes that the packages could help cheer the front-liners. \u201cHopefully they can have a smile on their face, at least for a few minutes, and then hopefully, I&#8217;m sure they do know, but people on our islands and their families recognize that what they&#8217;re doing for the community is a good thing, and then they should feel proud of what they&#8217;re doing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gov. Ralph DLG Torres, who received the donation with COVID-19 Task Force head Warren Villagomez and Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. CEO Esther Mu\u00f1a, thanked the company for their donation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis appreciation is for nurses and doctors, and I say thank you and definitely every contribution, every donation, every good deed is greatly appreciated,\u201d Torres said.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, the company also donated 445 aid packages and grocery items to the CNMI government, for distribution to families in need.
