Scholarship Program are Joyce Cuenca, Jamarie Paras, and Jessy Lou Lizama. The three recipients had undergone a highly competitive application process that included several essay requirements and a panel interview.<\/p>\n<p>The Matson Scholarship awards scholarships to three deserving full-time NMC students pursuing a degree in either a bachelor\u2019s in business management or an associate of science in accounting during each academic school year. Each student will receive about\u00a0$500. The scholarships are awarded based on financial need, merit, eligibility, the content of the applicant\u2019s essay, and an interview panel.<\/p>\n<p>This was the company\u2019s fourth donation of scholarships to NMC.<\/p>\n<p>Cuenca is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Business Management with a concentration in accounting. Paras is pursuing both a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, while Lizama is working toward an Associates of Applied Science in Accounting and Business Management degree.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe college is grateful for Matson\u2019s support of students during these unprecedented times,\u201d said NMC interim president Frankie Eliptico. \u201cThese funds go a long way in helping our students reach their educational and professional goals.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the Matson Navigation Company Scholarship is to promote higher education by providing financial assistance for college students in their pursuit of professional careers, help alleviate the critical current and future shortage of skilled and trained workforce for the CNMI, and to provide current public and private sector employees with opportunities to improve their knowledge and skills, and enhance their career and professional development.<\/p>\n<p>For more information about available scholarships at NMC visit\u00a0www.marianas.edu.
