MONROYO)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Brewers\u2019 Nokki Saralu and Vince Cepeda are the current leaders in the batting and pitching races in the 2014 Saipan Baseball League.<\/p>\n<p>Saralu registered a batting average of .444 after last Monday\u2019s game. He was 12-for-27 at bat to lead 14 others. The Brewers third baseman is ahead of erstwhile leader Ian Rogolifoi of the Tigers, as the latter hit 10-for-24 for a batting average of .417.<br \/>\nRogolifoi and Saralu were the only two players in the batting chart to have an average of at least .400.<\/p>\n<p>Third placer Tyrone Omar of the Brewers recorded .360 off a 9-for-25 performance at the plate, while his teammate Diego Camacho (.357\/10-for-28) and the Fielders\u2019 Jared Sablan (.354\/17-for-48) rounded out the Top 5.<\/p>\n<p>Others on the list are the Tigers\u2019 Mark Toves (.346), the Northern Starz\u2019s Jeremy Atalig (.345), the Tigers\u2019 Jesse Yamagishi (.333), the Brewers\u2019 Byron Kaipat (.300), the Tigers\u2019 Rocco Reyes (.300) and Tom Guerrero (.290), the Brewers\u2019 Ton Leon Guerrero (.290) and Jun Rabauliman (.278), and the Fielders\u2019 Brian McAllister (.259), and Zack Flores (.242). The batting leaders were based on 24 or more times at bat.<\/p>\n<p>In the pitching contest, Cepeda is ahead of five others with his 0.43 ERA. He pitched 21 innings and gave up only one run to pace the Fielders\u2019 Aaron Benavente (1.29), Joe Palacios (2.13), and Tony Benavente (2.13), the Tigers\u2019 Peter Lieto (1.96), and the Brewers\u2019 Tom Camacho (2.53).<\/p>\n<p>While he slid down to third place in the pitching race, Lieto remained at the top spot in the strikeouts category with his 40. Cepeda is at second place with his 31 strikeouts, while Palacios and Camacho had 26 and 17, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>In other categories, Saralu leads both the triples and RBIs races with two and 16. Jared Sablan has the second most RBIs so far with 10, while another Fielders player Vincent Sablan has eight. In the runs, Omar is slightly ahead of three others with his 13. Saralu, the Northern Starz\u2019s Lamarc Iguel, and Jared Sablan have 12 each.
