{"id":322252,"date":"2020-05-05T06:02:18","date_gmt":"2020-05-04T20:02:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=322252"},"modified":"2020-05-05T06:02:18","modified_gmt":"2020-05-04T20:02:18","slug":"daok-academy-construction-is-a-go","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/daok-academy-construction-is-a-go\/","title":{"rendered":"Da\u2019ok Academy construction is a go"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The construction of the new Da\u2019Ok Academy is set to begin soon, according to Board of Education vice chair Herman Atalig, who oversees the committee that is tasked with campus development under the Public School System.<\/p>\n<p>According to Atalig, they received a notice to proceed with the construction of the new Da\u2019Ok Academy last week. <\/p>\n<p>The new facility will be built at the Saipan Southern High School campus. <\/p>\n<p>Da\u2019ok Academy principal Jonathan Aguon said the decision to build the academy at the SSHS campus came to be because, compared to the academy\u2019s original site at Marianas High School, SSHS is much bigger and can accommodate the facility. <\/p>\n<p>The proposed facility includes a total of five classrooms for all five Da\u2019ok Academy teachers, two office spaces, and an assembly area that will double as a cafeteria.<\/p>\n<p>Aguon added that relocating the campus to SSHS instead of MHS would provide Da\u2019ok Academy with field space that they never had.
