{"id":322256,"date":"2020-05-05T06:03:32","date_gmt":"2020-05-04T20:03:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=322256"},"modified":"2020-05-05T06:03:32","modified_gmt":"2020-05-04T20:03:32","slug":"uscis-extends-flexibility-for-responding-to-agency-requests","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/uscis-extends-flexibility-for-responding-to-agency-requests\/","title":{"rendered":"USCIS extends flexibility for responding to agency requests"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In response to the coronavirus pandemic, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services is extending the flexibilities it announced on March 30 to assist applicants and petitioners who are responding to:<\/p>\n<p>-Requests for Evidence;<\/p>\n<p>-Continuations to Request Evidence (N-14);<\/p>\n<p>-Notices of Intent to Deny;<\/p>\n<p>-Notices of Intent to Revoke;<\/p>\n<p>-Notices of Intent to Rescind and Notices of Intent to Terminate regional investment centers; and<\/p>\n<p>-Filing date requirements for Form I-290B, Notice of Appeal or Motion.<\/p>\n<p>This flexibility applies to\u00a0these documents if the issuance date listed on the request, notice or decision is between March 1 and July 1, 2020, inclusive.<\/p>\n<p>Response due date<\/p>\n<p>USCIS will consider a response to the above requests and notices received within 60 calendar days\u00a0after the response due date set\u00a0in the request or notice before taking action. USCIS will consider a Form I-290B received up to 60 calendar days from the date of the decision before it takes any action.<\/p>\n<p>USCIS is adopting several measures to protect its workforce and community and to minimize the immigration consequences for those seeking immigration benefits during this time.<\/p>\n<p>USCIS will provide further updates as the situation develops and will continue to follow CDC guidance. Education and precautions are the strongest tools against COVID-19 infection.
