A newly printed driver\u2019s license typically expires within the term of three years; however, an inadvertent error had allowed some driver\u2019s licenses to print with a one-year expiration date.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The department would like to apologize for the inconvenience and assure license holders that a new license will be printed at no extra charge, with the corrected three-year expiration date.<\/p>\n<p>This error applies both to contract workers and CNMI citizens. If you notice an error on your license, visit the BMV during operational hours for a re-print.<\/p>\n<p>When re-applying for a driver\u2019s license or for a re-print of a driver\u2019s license, we ask that you provide all your supporting documents when doing so.<\/p>\n<p>When applying for a\u00a0REAL-ID compliant\u00a0driver\u2019s license supporting documents include:<\/p>\n<p>1. A valid U.S. Passport<br \/>\n2. Original Social Security Card<br \/>\n3. Two documents with a proof of address (which can be obtained from a car registration, and insurance card or statement, utility bill, cellular or phone bill,\u00a0lease agreement, bank statement, etc.)<\/p>\n<p>When applying for a regular driver\u2019s license that is\u00a0not REAL ID compliant, supporting documents include:<\/p>\n<p>1. Passport (U.S. or foreign passport)<br \/>\n2. Document with current immigration status<br \/>\n3. Your expired driver\u2019s license<\/p>\n<p>BMV\u2019s hours of operation are Monday \u2013 Friday:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a08am &#8211; 11am: document drop-off\u00a0for vehicle and\/or watercraft registration renewal<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a08am &#8211; 11am: walk-in for driver\u2019s license renewal<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a08am &#8211; 11am: updated document(s) pick-up<\/p>\n<p>BMV will be accepting incoming documents and will be processing these documents for next-day pick-up.<\/p>\n<p>At this time BMV is still processing documents of those who have expired driver\u2019s licenses and vehicle\/watercraft registrations during the month of March or earlier.
