Aldan. <\/p>\n<p>The testing, which began last Monday on the island, is not mandatory, but will help detect and contain the SARS-COV2 virus, which causes COVID-19. The testing is done at the Tinian Health Center, with the next schedules set on May 26 to 28, Tuesday until Thursday, from 9am to 4pm.<\/p>\n<p>According to Aldan, there were about 50 residents who got tested on Monday, but the numbers went up at the end of the week. Based on the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. data, 191 specimens have already been collected on Tinian.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe first day, we had 52,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He acknowledged that some people are scared of how the test is administered, which involves taking a swab from a person sinus through one\u2019s nose but Aldan said he resorted to telling jokes to get people to register and go through the COVID-19 community testing. <\/p>\n<p>The mayor is urging everyone on Tinian to register and get tested, which is free. \u201cI urge the community to please come down to the health center and register, and come down and let\u2019s go through this mass testing.
