(Mark Rabago)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>BAB Korean Restaurant reopened last week with a new drive-thru counter and innovative rice topping offerings it cleverly calls CupBAB. <\/p>\n<p>Restaurant manager Lotesa Ferrer said that BAB Korean Restaurant closed just a little more than a month after it opened due to the COVID-19 pandemic. That gave them a chance to brainstorm the kind of food they could serve once they reopen.<\/p>\n<p> \u201cWe came up with the idea of rice toppings in a cup\u2014Korean food in a cup. Ours is the first-ever Korean restaurant with drive-thru on Saipan and since \u2018bab\u2019 is rice in Korean, we called our new product CupBAB,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_323591\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-323591\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/BAB-pix-3-300x225.jpg\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-323591\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">BAB Korean Restaurant is located at the former Caesar\u2019s Sauna property along Beach Road in Garapan. (Mark Rabago)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Their take-out menu currently has 10 items ranging in price from the $3 mandoo (4 piece soft-fried dumplings) to the $7 combo bab (beef, mandoo, noodles, tofu, lettuce, and rice). In between, customers can enjoy the $5 original bab (pork, noodles, lettuce, rice) or the $6 squid bab (spicy squid, noodles, tofu, lettuce, rice). Those who want it hot can also sample their $5 volcano bab (spicy pork, noodles, lettuce, rice).<\/p>\n<p>Signature drinks like sujeonggwa (Korean cinnamon ginger tea) and Hawaiian iced tea are also available for take-out. <\/p>\n<p>Aside from the new CupBAB menu, BAB Korean Restaurant is still offering take-out platters from their original menu. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlease try and visit us. Ferrer said they also deliver for free for a minimum of five orders.<\/p>\n<p> \u201cAs a bonus, if a customer has a lot of orders for delivery we give two complimentary items for trial,\u201d  she said. <\/p>\n<p>BAB Korean Restaurant is located at the former Caesar\u2019s Sauna property along Beach Road in Garapan. It is open 6am-10am and 11:30am-5pm.
