A survey that was sent out to schools and community members early this year regarding their vision for the park all came back positive.

Applications for funding were submitted to the Community Block Development Grant and the Technical Assistance Program Grant to replace chain link fences, repair concrete benches and picnic tables, build pavilions, purchase and install more playground equipment, build a basketball court and volleyball court, renovate the bathrooms and changing rooms, install new light posts, construct a site for vendors, and plan a splash pad or a form of recreational water activity for children. The Projects Management Division is hoping for positive news from the two grantors between July or August.

The Tinian Children’s Park will be opened to the public once the installation of new activities/facilities and the renovation of the bathrooms/changing rooms are complete.

If all plans go well without any interruption, summer time will be the target of ribbon-cutting for the Tinian Children’s Park.
