{"id":324351,"date":"2020-06-05T06:01:45","date_gmt":"2020-06-04T20:01:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=324351"},"modified":"2020-06-05T06:01:45","modified_gmt":"2020-06-04T20:01:45","slug":"nmi-tally-of-positives-now-at-26","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/nmi-tally-of-positives-now-at-26\/","title":{"rendered":"NMI tally of positives now at 26"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The CNMI\u2019s total confirmed COVID-19 cases have gone from 23 to 26.<\/p>\n<p>In an announcement yesterday by the Governor\u2019s COVID-19 Task Force and the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp., it said that three more persons in the CNMI have been confirmed to have COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>One is a 39-year-old female who is asymptomatic, which means she does not have any symptoms. The individual is currently in isolation at Kanoa Resort in Susupe, and is being monitored by CHCC.<\/p>\n<p>According to the task force\u2019s statement, the individual was identified through community-based testing and confirmed positive at the Commonwealth Health Center laboratory on June 3.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt the time, the patient\u2019s exposure to the virus is unknown. CHCC\u2019s contact tracing teams are looking into the possibility of exposure through community spread of COVID-19,\u201d said the statement.<\/p>\n<p>Esther Mu\u00f1a, CHCC chief executive officer, stated that the other two cases are \u201ctravelers.\u201d However, they are not from the same flight as the 30-year-old female who tested positive last June 2. Mu\u00f1a declined to disclose more information on the two cases.<\/p>\n<p>To date, the CNMI has a total of 26 confirmed COVID-19 cases, with eight active cases, 16 recoveries, and two deaths.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/BBB.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-324352\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/BBB-89x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"89\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Since this is a rapidly evolving situation, CHCC assured that it will continue to update the community.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the COVID-19 Task Force advises the community to avoid spreading misinformation by sharing only official and verified notices, press releases, and advisories from the Governor\u2019s COVID-19 Task Force and CHCC.<\/p>\n<p><strong>COVID-19 in Guam<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Department of Public Health and Social Services in Guam confirmed another positive case of COVID-19 last June 3. According to the Joint Information Center in Guam, this case was identified through community testing and did not report contact to a confirmed case.<\/p>\n<p>An additional case was reported yesterday from the Guam Memorial Hospital Authority. The case recently traveled and was identified while staying in a government quarantine facility. The case tested positive at GMHA.<\/p>\n<p>To date, Guam has 179 cases confirmed COVID-19 cases, with five deaths, 162 released from isolation, and 12 active cases.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The CNMI\u2019s total confirmed COVID-19 cases have gone from 23 to 26.
