Despite the unprecedented crisis the CNMI is currently facing, the Northern Marianas College held a virtual commemoration for one of its largest graduating class with over 200 degrees conferred. <\/p>\n
Although NMC postponed its in-person graduation ceremony until later in December, the college commemorated the achievement of its graduates this past weekend by releasing a video comprised of the graduates\u2019 photos, the degrees and honors that they earned, and messages from local leaders. <\/p>\n
NMC interim president Frankie Eliptico said this graduating class has been through so many disasters but they have risen above it. \u201cThis has class been through it all. You name it, super typhoons, economic hardships, and now a pandemic and while the NMC Class of 2020 has seen unprecedented challenges and disasters, the graduates have risen above all of that, above anything that they\u2019ve been asked to confront, and they faced these head on, with courage, with passion, with grit and with untiring determination,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n
NMC Board of Regents chair Charles Cepeda thanked the graduates for being an inspiration to other students and to the community. \u201cGraduating from college is a big achievement. Many of the graduates overcame challenges along the way, including Super Typhoon Yutu and COVID-19,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n
The associate degrees awarded were in Business, Liberal Arts, Business Administration (Account, Business Management or Computer Applications Emphasis), Criminal Justice, Hospitality Management, Natural Resource Management, and Nursing.<\/p>\n
The bachelor degrees awarded were in Business Management (or business management with accounting concentration), and in Education (with emphasis in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Rehabilitation and Human Services, or Special Education). <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
