{"id":324670,"date":"2020-06-11T06:03:27","date_gmt":"2020-06-10T20:03:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=324670"},"modified":"2020-06-11T06:03:27","modified_gmt":"2020-06-10T20:03:27","slug":"additions-to-cnmi-total-identified-thru-arrival-screening-quarantine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/additions-to-cnmi-total-identified-thru-arrival-screening-quarantine\/","title":{"rendered":"Additions to CNMI total identified thru arrival screening, quarantine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The two persons added to the CNMI\u2019s total count of coronavirus infections, which now stands at 30 positive COVID-19 cases, were identified through the arrival screening and quarantine process required for all incoming international passengers, according to an Office of the Governor statement.<\/p>\n<p>It said the two new people diagnosed with COVID-19 have no symptoms, but were placed under quarantine pursuant to the Governor\u2019s Executive Order for incoming travelers, and were identified as positive for the virus.<\/p>\n<p>Of the 30 confirmed cases in the CNMI, 23% (seven cases) have been identified through testing at the Governor\u2019s COVID-19 Task Force Quarantine Facility at the Pacific Islands Club Saipan.<\/p>\n<p>The Governor\u2019s COVID-19 Task Force and the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. assured that many interventions are in place to protect the community from the spread of COVID-19 within the CNMI, and care for those who are diagnosed. \u201cOur recent cases\u2026highlights the value of [our] border containment effort. Combined with immediate contact tracing, these interventions are key in minimizing the risk of exposure for COVID-19 to the community,\u201d the statement adds.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, CHCC and Governor\u2019s Task Force have changed how information on people who contract the COVID-19 virus is reported. In order to maintain privacy, from now on, \u201cwe will only share information\u2026[on] age range, method of identification (community testing, known contact of a previous case, or incoming travel), and how the new case affects the Community Vulnerability Rating for the CNMI.
