The Department of Labor is holding an outreach session today at the Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center, from 9am to 4pm, where those who want to know where they are in the PUA application process is will be able to do so.

According to Labor Secretary Vicky Benavente, 10 of the department’s personnel will provide assistance at the center. “Many of the questions we have today and the past few days is: where is my PUA application, what is the status, and so this is a good time to come into the building, see if there are any missing documents.

“We will have our laptop set up and see exactly where’s your application. Is it being reviewed? Is it being adjudicated? Has it been processed for benefits? All of those questions can be answered [today] so bring copies of the documents that were submitted,” she added.

For those who have already submitted their documents online and are looking to go to the outreach today, Benavente advises them to bring hard copies of documents or any kind of proof of the documents that were submitted.

It takes an average of 30 to 40 minutes to work on each application.

“The application is such a tedious document [that] many of our applicants do not understand the questions, and perhaps answered them incorrectly, which made an application become denied or incomplete, and so it takes an average of 30, 40 minutes per person,” she said.

Labor is working on about 200 PUA applications daily, which they seek to increase in the next few days. To date, close to $5 million worth of PUA has been issued, with Finance Secretary David Atalig hoping that another $5 million will be processed, approved, or paid within the week.

Do you want to know the status of your Pandemic Unemployment Assistance application?
