To maintain awareness of the Marianas during the worldwide lull in leisure travel due to COVID-19, the Marianas Visitors Authority has launched a new series of video and photo productions for distribution on its social media platforms. <\/p>\n
The first in the series, \u201cDance Your Way Through the Marianas,\u201d premiered on July 17 on the MVA\u2019s English Facebook and Instagram and will also be shared on its platforms in other markets. The five-minute video illustrates a glimpse of the Marianas\u2019 tourism attractions and amenities and provide viewers a virtual experience of the islands. <\/p>\n
\u201cTo counter the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, more than ever the Marianas as a tourist destination needs to keep a relevant online presence to attract potential travelers and stand out among other beach destinations,\u201d said MVA managing director Priscilla M. Iakopo. \u201cThis video series will help keep the Marianas top-of-the-mind for potential visitors, which is important as it is more cost-efficient to maintain destination presence than to completely reboot a market from zero when tourism resumes. This video gives tourists a tour of the cultures and natural beauty of the Marianas and aims to create a positive emotional response, which will increase demand for the Marianas once they are ready to travel again.\u201d <\/p>\n
Since its launch, \u201cDance Your Way Through the Marianas\u201d has organically reached over 35,000 Facebook users, generating over 16,000 views and over 1,500 reactions. The video also has over 4,100 views on Instagram. <\/p>\n
Business and community groups who sponsored or supported the video production include Island Image & Motion, Surf Club Saipan, Rufina LLC, Refaluwasch BwiBwis, Luta Ohana Dancers, I Tulu Na Man Mata\u030ao, Marianas Chamorritas, and Taotao Taga Dance Academy. The video also features the song Marianas Faluwei by J.J. Concepcion. <\/p>\n
