Janet U. Maratita (R-Saipan) said Monday that she is not seeking re-election as representative for Saipan\u2019s Precinct 1 for the Nov. 3 general elections. <\/p>\n
Maratita said that despite the continued support and encouragement of family members, friends, constituents, and Precinct 1 community, she will not be seeking re-election or election in any capacity due to personal reasons.<\/p>\n
\u201cI extend my deepest gratitude to the great people of Precinct 1 for entrusting me to represent you in the House of Representatives where I will continue to serve your best interests until the end of my term in January,\u201d she said. \u201cPlease know that serving my community has and will always be my life\u2019s greatest passion. For this reason, it is my hope that I will continue to serve this community that I love by other means of public service and community involvement.\u201d <\/p>\n
