Starting today, businesses that have facilities open to the public may now be open from\u00a05am to 1am, social gatherings at public beaches are now allowed, and curfew hours are now between the hours of\u00a02am and 4am.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The CNMI remains at Level Blue, though, which is still one step from Level Green, which is the safest level. However, buoyed by the CNMI\u2019s efforts to keep its number of coronavirus numbers down, Gov. Ralph DLG Torres amended the CNMI COVID-19 Emergency Directives of 2020 yesterday to ease some of the health restrictions that are in place, effective today, Aug. 6, 2020. <\/p>\n
\u201cDue to the continued success of our COVID-19 preventative measures at the borders, as well as the cooperation of our community in adhering to guidance from our health officials, the CNMI remains safe from the spread of COVID-19, thus further relaxation of restrictions is warranted,\u201d said part of the governor\u2019s memorandum yesterday.<\/p>\n
For businesses that have facilities open to the public, they may continue to operate outside the 5am-to-1am period but may not be open to the public. Businesses may not conduct drop-off\/pick-up and delivery services during the curfew hours.<\/p>\n
Businesses shall also limit occupancy to 75%.<\/p>\n
All public beaches and pathways are open for all recreational activities, including social gatherings, subject to the social distancing requirements stated in the CNMI COVID-19 Emergency Directives.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Curfew hours on Saipan, Tinian and Rota are between the hours of\u00a02am and 4am.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cWe continue to urge individuals to practice good hygiene, exercise social distancing at all times when not at home, and to wear face masks in public, especially when feeling ill,\u201d the memo stated. <\/p>\n
