Northern Marianas College nursing graduates Rose Ogo and MJ Masongsong have joined the list of students who passed the challenging National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses or NCLEX-RN.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are extremely proud of Rose and MJ\u2019s accomplishments as well as the other nursing students who have been able to reach this important milestone of passing the NCLEX,\u201d said NMC interim president Frankie Eliptico.<\/p>\n

The NCLEX-RN tests an individual\u2019s nursing knowledge, skills and abilities essential to the safe and effective practice of nursing at the entry level. The exam is used by nursing boards in all U.S. states and territories to award nursing licenses.<\/p>\n

\u201cRose and MJ have a bright future in the nursing field and we expect to see great things from them as their educational and professional journeys continue,\u201d said NMC Nursing Department chair Rosa T. Aldan.<\/p>\n

According to Ogo, she became a nurse so that she could follow in her mother\u2019s footsteps. \u201cI\u2019ve always heard that the profession was hard work but very rewarding,\u201d Ogo said. \u201cI wanted to be like my mom and make a difference in people\u2019s lives be it small or big.\u201d<\/p>\n

Masongsong said that NMC helped her in preparing for the NCLEX. \u201cI owe it to my nursing instructors for providing the foundation for my passage of the NCLEX,\u201d she said. \u201cThey helped hone my clinical skills with hands-on activities such as return demonstrations, which help with procedural content related to the NCLEX. This really helped me keep in the right mindset because there are times when I felt an overwhelming flood of emotions that I could not focus well.\u201d<\/p>\n
