{"id":329530,"date":"2020-09-10T06:00:38","date_gmt":"2020-09-09T20:00:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=329530"},"modified":"2020-09-10T06:00:38","modified_gmt":"2020-09-09T20:00:38","slug":"cnmi-census-responses-to-be-sent-to-dc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/cnmi-census-responses-to-be-sent-to-dc\/","title":{"rendered":"CNMI Census responses to be sent to DC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The CNMI Census Office has completed data collection and field follow up activities as of the end of August 2020, according to the Department of Commerce yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>In response to Saipan Tribune\u2019s inquiries, Commerce Central Statistics Division director Justin Andrew said Census responses are now being packed and will be sent to the U.S. Census Bureau headquarters in Washington, D.C. before the end of September. Andrew said the CNMI Census Office will be officially closed by the end of November.<\/p>\n<p>He said Census data processing, tabulation, and report publication will be done by the U.S. Census Bureau at its headquarters.<\/p>\n<p>He said the 2020 Census of the CNMI contract only allows the CNMI government to collect the data. \u201cAll the data collected is sent to the U.S. Census Bureau headquarters for processing and reporting,\u201d Andrew said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_329532\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-329532\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-329532\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Mark-O.-Rabauliman-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-329532\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Rabauliman<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Commerce Secretary Mark O.
